SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $75,000

Position Summary
The Goodman Theatre seeks a Production Manager to be an integral part of the production management team. In collaboration with the Director of Production and Operations, this individual will work with directors, designers, and our experienced staff on an eight (8) show season, our annual production of A Christmas Carol, New Stages Festival, special events, and outside rentals.
Essential Duties

Work in collaboration with the Director of Production and Operations, directors, designers, production department staff, and other departments to realize productions and events in the theaters while maintaining the artistic core values of Quality, Diversity and Community and production standards of the Goodman Theatre

Facilitate timely communication, coordinate and lead meetings among directors, designers, and production department supervisors as designs are produced while assessing resources, staffing, and scheduling restraints

Develop schedules, labor and materials estimates for productions, events, and rentals

Manage and maintain production schedules and budgets in collaboration with department supervisors to ensure production goals will be achieved

Hire, onboard, and manage crew members and Stage Managers and act as main point of contact for their needs on the production

General oversight and interdepartmental coordination for all aspects of the production process including tech, load-ins and load-outs which will require night and weekend hours

Attend and participate in all technical rehearsals and attend previews to coordinate daily goals, set priorities, and ensure a safe, effective, and efficient process

Ensure a safe and supportive working environment in collaboration with production team and production department supervisors

Administrate the production department Health and Safety program including scheduling regular trainings, maintaining our SDS system, and responding to staff questions and concerns
Skills and Qualifications
Applicants should:

have three (3) years professional production management or comparable experience

be proficient in technical theatre practices

have effective communication skills
-
think creatively
-
be self-motivated
-
maintain a positive attitude
-
have a working knowledge of AutoCAD
-
have experience with IATSE, AEA, and/or USA agreements, if possible
